Lídia Sequeira is President of the Executive Board of Directors of the Port of Lisbon Authority and of the Port of Setubal and Sesimbra Authority since 2016 as well as the President for the Portuguese Ports Association (APP).
Graduated in Economic Sciences by ISCEF in Lisbon she early started, in 1972, in Transports sector at the Directorate General for the Portuguese Land Transportation, simultaneously with a stage in the Hagen Transports Institute, Holland, promoted by OCDE, and later in Brussels at DG VII (Transports) for the preparation of the accession of Portugal to European Community.
From 1977 to 1996, Lídia held positions as Coordinator of School Transportation Planning and Implementing Team Leader, Responsible for International Transportation, Studies and Planning Office Director and Deputy General Director of Land Transportation.
From 1997 to 2004, she held positions as Manager for the European Structural Funds Framework for Transports, also being the national Ministry of Transport’s representative at the TEN-T Financial Committee.
From 2004 to 2005, she integrated the PRT Ministry of Science and Technology being the responsible for the Science and Technology European Funds.
Lídia Sequeira from 2005 until today is directly involved with the Ports and Maritime Sector. She held positions as President of the Executive Board of Directors of the Port of Sines Authority (2005-2013) and of the Port of Lisbon and Setubal and Sesimbra Authorities since 2016 as of today.
From 2005 to 2013 she was also member of the Board of AICEP Global Parques, a state Agency for promoting private investment.
